A Happy Mother's Day to my mom, and all the moms out there.

Especially the MILFs.

MILF

The White Sox lost again last night. Well not really. The White Sox won actually, but the umpires decided that the Twins should win instead.

With a 5-1 lead in the fifth and 2 outs, Minnesota 2nd baseman Luis Castillo hit a little dribbler in front of the plate. Javier Vazquez made a nice play and threw the ball to first for the third out.

One slight problem, the umpire ruled that Konerko's tag was too late and that Castillo beat it.

Well that's great Mr. Umpire, but perhaps you should have also noticed that Konerko's FOOT WAS ON FIRST BASE AND HE DIDN'T NEED TO TAG CASTILLO.

So instead of 3 outs, inning over, the Twins got to keep batting. Two singles later it's now 4-3.

Then Michael Cuddyer comes up to the plate and gets hit by a pitch.

Another slight problem, HE SWUNG AT THE PITCH. If you swing and miss it doesn't matter if the ball hits you, it's a strike. Both the home plate umpire, and the first base umpire ruled he didn't swing.

Last I checked, if you turn your upper torso a full 180 degrees, and the bat is pointing at the shortstop (for a right handed hitter) I think that's considered a swing.

Ozzie then got tossed for arguing. The first sign that an umpire knows he fucked up?

He throws the arguing manager out right away. Ozzie then got his money's worth.

Of course the Twins then hit a bases loaded single, making it 5-4 Twins, and the wheels came off from there.

So I hope the Twins send those umps a thank you card.

Now I was upset, but really it's just a game in May. I do remember the ALCS last season when Peirzynski stole first on strike three.

These things have ways of fixing themselves at oppurtune times, though it's still frustrating anytime it goes against you.

In the game both Joe Crede and Jim Thome had an RBI each, but the Cubs scored 3 in their 4-3 loss, so the bet between Panger and I now stands at:

  1. Panger-30
  2. Tom-24

Keepin It Real Since 1980,

Tom
